Louisiana’s Medical Malpractice Act typically requires the parties to a medical malpractice case to present their dispute to a Medical Review Panel before proceeding with their lawsuit. The Panel consists of three medical providers practicing in the same field as the defendant or defendants. The Act also provides that the parties must agree upon an Attorney Chair to facilitate the Panel in performing its duties.
Attorneys who represent clients in malpractice cases routinely ask Perry, Balhoff, Mengis & Burns lawyer Dan Balhoff to serve as an Attorney Chair. If you would like to appoint an Attorney Chair, or if you have any questions, feel free to contact Dan Balhoff (telephone: 1-225-767-8988; email: email@example.com) directly, or contact his assistant Sue Langlois (telephone: 1-225-767-7730; email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
